What language is used in the examination in Japan?
Can I get hold of past papers?
You cannot get hold of past papers, but some sample questions are provided on the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries website.
Eligibility for the examination
I do not live in Japan. Can I still take the examination in Japan?
You can, if you meet the criteria for eligibility. Guidelines for examinations are provided on the Organization for Technical Skill Assessment of Foreign Workers in Food Industry website. Please read the section on qualifications for sitting the examination carefully before applying.

Yes, you can. If you login in to My Page on the Organization for Technical Skill Assessment of Foreign Workers in Food Industry website, you can select which examinations you wish to take.
What is the ABC type?
The allotment of marks differs by type. For more details, please see, “3. Examination subjects and methods of administration, etc.” in the examination guidelines provided on the Organization for Technical Skill Assessment of Foreign Workers in Food Industry website.
Examination results/pass certificates
I lost my pass certificate. What should I do?
You can have your pass certificate reissued, but only once. Please have a good search for your certificate, and if you still cannot find it, call the Organization for Technical Skill Assessment of Foreign Workers in Food Industry.
I passed the test, but have yet to receive a pass certificate. What should I do?
You may not receive your pass certificate if you failed to complete your address properly or you do not have a name card. Please call the Organization for Technical Skill Assessment of Foreign Workers in Food Industry.
What is the validity period for pass certificates?

I do not live in a country in which examinations outside Japan are administered. Can I still take the test?
Are the questions that appear in examinations outside Japan in my own language?
